Decoding this Monday morning, the question of the decade -Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
The answer is, (drum rolls….) there is no right answer!
Every individual is different, every learning is different, and so the goals are different. But most importantly because the only certain thing in life is uncertainty!
I remember sitting in a placement drive, final round, the same question, where do you see yourself in 5 years? My answer, (in my defence I was 20 and clueless), I want to be a manager in your company. It sounded funny in my head and I’m sure it sounded funny to the recruiter! (But, aren’t we all taught to dream big?)
Back then I had zero clue of what I wanted to achieve. For example, I was going to pursue MBA in a city completely new to me, or I could score an ‘A’ in Brand Management or at the end make a career out of my passion and with the little knowledge I hold of marketing.
I gave a lot of thought to what today, at age of 26, what would my answer be to the “big” question. My answer – I Don’t Know!! (No, I’m not clueless)
Being a firm believer in, change is the only constant, I don’t want to pin myself to a timeline (also because I take myself by surprise somedays).
But I do know, 5 years down the line I want to fulfil a part of my bucket list. (In no specific order, and enjoy the surprises life throws at me!)
No, it doesn’t mean that I wait for good things to happen, life will take you by shock than surprise, but yes, I don’t give up!
And I’m not lying here, Social Anagram is one big example, where every month, I try to create content, that one piece that would blow everyone’s mind!
To conclude, 5 years down the line, I see myself, writing more, what exactly, that I shall figure out! A flyer, brochure, infographic, a short novel or maybe something entirely different (Taking it one day at a time)
And for the rest, I shall wait for life to create its magic!!
